Tawse Winery Named Wine Access 2010 Canadian Wine Awards Winery of the Year

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Oct. 12, 2010) - Tawse Winery, located in Vineland, Ont., has been named the Wine Access 2010 Canadian Wine Awards Winery of the Year.

Tawse's win marks the first time in the 10-year history of the competition that an Ontario winery has received the prestigious award.

Inniskillin Wines Ontario, located in Niagara-on-the-Lake, placed second; and Mission Hill Family Estate, from Kelowna, British Columbia, placed third.

This year's competition was judged by a national team of 16 wine professionals, representing some of Canada's most well-respected sommeliers, critics, journalists and educators.

The complete list of award-winning Canadian wines, wineries — including the country's Top 20 wineries — and judges, will be published in the December/January issue of Wine Access magazine, on newsstands starting December 6.
