TCGRx and CareFusion Announce Agreement to Serve Long-Term Care Pharmacies

POWERS LAKE, WI--(Marketwire - Aug 30, 2011) - TCGRx (TCG), a leading provider of pharmacy workflow solutions, announced today a joint marketing agreement with CareFusion (NYSE: CFN), a leading, global medical technology company, to help long-term care pharmacies comply with upcoming federal short-cycle filling regulations.

A combination of TCG's pharmacy automation systems, integrated with CareFusion Pyxis^® dispensing solutions, provides a cost-effective and seamless process for delivering medications from long-term care pharmacies into resident facilities. In addition, the agreement expands CareFusion's sales reach into long-term care facilities.

TCG automation technology packages bulk medication into patient specific pouches complete with a bar code to enhance medication safety and improve nursing and pharmacy efficiencies. In turn, the Pyxis medication dispensing system can communicate with the TCG packager to generate batch replenishment. The two technologies provide a chain of custody with medication delivery while reducing costs to both pharmacy operations and facility operations.
