TCS Awarded $1.1 Million Contract to Provide SATCOM Terminals, Platform

Award Part of World-Wide Satellite Systems Contract to Support Project Manager, Defense Communications and Army Transmission System

ANNAPOLIS, MD--(Marketwire - June 13, 2007) - TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. (TCS) (NASDAQ: TSYS), a global leader in mission-critical wireless communications, today announced the award of a $1.1 million contract to provide satellite system components to the Project Manager, Defense Communications and Army Transmission System (PM DCATS) team at Ft. Monmouth, N.J.

PM DCATS provides project management of communications transmission systems that support Department of Defense (DoD) initiatives with secure, deployable communications capabilities to convey encrypted voice, video and imagery data. The contract authorizes TCS to provide hardware associated with Teleport C-Band and Ku-Band Earth Terminals, Detrick Earth Station (DES) and the User Terminal Communications Platform (UTCP).
