TCS Awarded Five-Year $25 Million Department of Defense IDIQ Contract

Initial Task Orders for $6.2 Million Will Provide Rapid Response Capabilities and Associated Next-Generation Communications Products and Systems

ANNAPOLIS, MD--(Marketwire - September 12, 2007) - TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. (TCS) (NASDAQ: TSYS), a global leader in mission-critical wireless communications, today announced it has been awarded a five-year, $25 million indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract to support the Department of Defense (DoD). Under the contract terms, TCS will deliver secure next-generation SwiftLink® communications products and services to support DoD initiatives. The initial task orders are valued at over $6.2 million and we anticipate delivering the products purchased on those orders within 90 days.
