TCS Hosts Deployable Communications/Swiftlink® Users' Forum, Showcases Technical Innovations

Strategic Partners Provide Insights on New Products

ANNAPOLIS, MD -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 3, 2006 --TeleCommunication Systems (TCS) (NASDAQ: TSYS), a leading provider of mission critical wireless communications, today announced that its Annual TCS Deployable Communications/SwiftLink Users' Forum and Operational Training was held April 20-21, 2006 in Orlando, FL. Commercial enterprises, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and the U.S. Special Operations and Intelligence communities were among the attendees.

Addressing topics ranging from innovative satellite services to research and development activities, as well as new products from strategic partners, TCS users and partners nationwide gathered at the Renaissance Orlando Resort at Sea World for the second annual Users' Forum. Through in-depth presentations and interactive exchanges, the forum enabled participants to hear first-hand the developments of TCS' SwiftLink deployable communications products and services.

Customers gained valuable operational training on TCS' products, enabling them to accomplish their missions in the field more effectively Training sessions covered deployable products, SwiftLink 2100, 2300 and the Deployable VSAT Module (DVM) product suite. Participants were able to learn the specific value in TCS' comprehensive approach of delivering its products and services as components of fully integrated solutions, including TCS' SwiftLink Global Satellite Services.
