TCW's Sri-Kumar to Discuss Divergent Paths of Major Players in the Global Economy

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - Apr 15, 2011) - The TCW Group (TCW), an international asset-management firm, invites you to participate in a conference call on Tuesday, April 19 with Komal Sri-Kumar, TCW's Chief Global Strategist and Portfolio Manager of the Morningstar 5-star rated TCW Global Conservative Allocation Fund (TGPCX/TGPNX).

The TCW Global Conservative Allocation Fund maintains a three-year and overall 5-star rating based on total return out of 592 funds in Morningstar's Conservative Allocation category for the time period ended March 31, 2011.

The title of Dr. Sri-Kumar's presentation is "Making Sense of Conflicting Forces in the Global Economy."

"After pledging cooperation in the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis, global central banks and finance ministers appear to be pursuing divergent paths oriented solely toward their domestic economies," said Dr. Sri-Kumar. "To ensure continued global growth and prevention of future crises will require mutually consistent economic and trade policies by the various governments, and globally coordinated financial regulation."

Dr. Sri-Kumar views the U.S. Federal Reserve's decision on Quantitative Easing when the current program ends in June as crucial, and believes the European debt crisis is far from over. Implications these developments would have for global equity and fixed income markets, and prospects for exchange rates and the price of gold, will be discussed during the conference call. He will also examine what investors should expect from their emerging markets investments.

Dr. Sri-Kumar is chairman of the TCW Comprehensive Asset Allocation Committee and is Portfolio Manager of TCW's three risk-targeted global asset allocation mutual funds: the TCW Global Conservative Allocation Fund, the TCW Global Moderate Allocation Fund (TGPMX/TGPOX), and the TCW Global Flexible Allocation Fund (TGPBX/TGPLX). For each fund with at least a three-year history, Morningstar calculates a Morningstar Rating™ based on a Morningstar risk-adjusted return measure that accounts for a variation in a fund's monthly performance (including the effects of sales charges, loads, and redemption fees), placing more emphasis on downward variations and rewarding consistent performance. The top 10% of funds in each category receive 5 stars, the next 22.5% receive 4 stars, the next 35% receive 3 stars, the next 22.5% receive 2 stars and the bottom 10% receive 1 star. The Overall Morningstar Rating for a fund is derived from a weighted average of the performance figures associated with its three-, five- and ten-year (if applicable) Morningstar Rating metrics.
