TCW's Steve Kane, Laird Landmann to Discuss MetWest Total Return Bond Fund on Conference Call

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - January 18, 2011) - The TCW Group (TCW), an international asset-management firm, invites you to participate in a conference call on Wednesday, January 19 with Stephen Kane and Laird Landmann, portfolio managers of the MetWest Total Return Bond Fund (MWTIX/MWTRX). The title of their presentation is "Playing Kick the Can: Finding Opportunities Amidst Shifting Debt Burdens."

The team that manages the MetWest Total Return Bond Fund, which also includes Tad Rivelle, TCW chief investment officer for fixed income, was nominated for Morningstar's Fixed Income Manager of the Year award in 2010, and won the award in 2005.*

"Aggressive Fed policy was necessary for avoiding economic collapse in 2008-09 but has created a legacy of distorted bond market pricing that provides both opportunities and risks," says Mr. Kane.

"Deleveraging has had a positive effect on corporate balance sheets, a dynamic that creates attractive opportunities in the corporate bond market despite a still challenged economy," adds Mr. Landmann.

The MetWest Total Return Bond Fund is a core bond fund that invests across multiple fixed income sectors, including agency and non-agency mortgage-backed securities, commercial mortgage-backed securities, investment grade and high yield corporate bonds and bank loans. Sector allocation is determined through an integration of macroeconomic analysis and fundamental research of individual securities.
