Teaching Common Core English Language Arts Standards Wins Prestigious Teachers' Choice Award for Professional Development

BLOOMINGTON, IN--(Marketwired - September 21, 2015) - Solution Tree, a premier educational publisher and professional development provider, announced that Teaching Common Core English Language Arts Standards has won the Learning® Magazine 2016 Teachers' Choice Award for Professional Development. Entries are judged by teachers from across the U.S. and are evaluated on quality, instructional value, ease of use, and innovation.

In the book, authors Patricia M. Cunningham and James W. Cunningham explore 20 lesson frameworks to help teach the Common Core State Standards for English language arts. Each chapter includes targeted lessons to help students master critical skills, including how to organize ideas from informational texts, identify similarities and differences, scrutinize words to gain deeper meaning of readings, and write with grade-appropriate language.

"As I read each lesson framework and followed the concrete teaching example provided, I was able to visualize how I would use it in my classroom with my own first graders," said Jane Ching Fung a teacher at Alexander Science Center School in California. "It's the perfect addition to any teacher resource library."

Brandi Leggett, a third-grade teacher at Prairie Ridge Elementary in Kansas added, "One of the greatest things about this book is how each chapter stands alone, allowing teachers to explore the specific framework needed for the standard they need to teach. This is a resource teachers will be grateful they had in their teaching toolbox."

Teaching Common Core English Language Arts Standards is now available to order at solution-tree.com.
