Teague Appoints New Creative Director

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - January 30, 2008) - Seattle-based design firm, Teague, recently named Tadeo Toulis as its new creative director of its Product Studio. Toulis will manage and mentor the design staff and its processes to ensure design excellence, effectively building the Teague brand while motivating, inspiring and leading the design team.

"A creative director is, in essence, the creative soul of a studio," said John Barratt, President and CEO of Teague. "Tad is a cultural builder who will help set the tone for product studio activities."

Toulis brings with him a wealth of experience including several years as the lead industrial designer at Motorola, Inc.'s advanced concepts group and two years as design manager at Samsung Telecommunications. In 1996 and 1997, Toulis conducted independent research as a Fulbright Scholar in Milan, Italy. During that time he was affiliated with the Politecnico in Milan and was a visiting artist at the American Academy in Rome.

Prior to joining Teague, Toulis also worked as a senior industrial designer at Lunar Design in San Francisco. In 2000 Toulis founded design RAW a design collective based in San Francisco, which explores universal issues through design.

Toulis has lectured on design issues at several design conferences and universities including the Aspen Design conference, as well as the National and Educational Conferences of the IDSA. In addition to his lecturing, his work has been recognized by awards from ID magazine, the IDSA and the iF Awards (Hanover). His work has also appeared in numerous design magazines and publications.

Raised in Manhattan, Toulis earned his master's degree in Industrial Design from the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. He has a bachelor's degree in English Literature and Studio Art from Wesleyan University, Connecticut.
