TEAGUE Wins Five IDEA Design Awards

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - Jul 1, 2011) - Reinforcing its reputation for inspired product and interaction solutions, today Teague announced it won five awards from the esteemed Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA). The award wins arrive on the heels of 13 preceding honors in 2010 for the company's work with Panasonic, HP and Rockwell Collins.

"This has been an incredible year for Teague," said John Barratt, Teague president and CEO. "Being recognized by the design community with these coveted awards is a true testament to the capabilities of our design team and quality of our work."

Teague's award-winning designs include:

  • BOEING 787 Dreamliner - Gold Award, Transportation; Gold Award, Strategy: The most successful commercial airplane launch in the history of aviation with more than 800 orders valued at $164 billion, the new 787 combines groundbreaking technology with progressive design to position The Boeing Company at the leading-edge of commercial aviation.
  • TEAGUE Radioball - Silver Award, Entertainment: Teague's Radioball concept allows users to navigate content to a precise radio destination without sacrificing discovery in the process. The design transforms a flat digital radio interaction into a rich interaction experience similar to traditional radios.

  • HP Envy 100 - Bronze Award, Computer Equipment: A new brand of printer designed to fit consumers' modern lifestyle. Envy has integrated wireless networking and a high-resolution touchscreen to redefine the way users print, copy and scan at home.

Started in 1980 by IDSA, the International Design Excellence Awards program (IDEA®) fosters business and public understanding about the impact of design excellence on the quality of life and the economy. The IDEA program is considered one of the most preeminent design competitions in the nation with its scope and influence reaching far beyond U.S. boundaries.
