Team Up With Chris Evans This Holiday Season to Fight Cancer

Join Captain America and Take Part in a Giving Tuesday Campaign for Contributions to Help Christopher's Haven

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwired - Nov 11, 2015) - Christopher's Haven, a unique community shelter and support system for families coping with pediatric cancer, today announced their first annual #GivingTuesday campaign. Following the wild success of the "Twitter Bowl" between Chris Evans and Chris Pratt, Christopher's Haven is teaming up yet again with Captain America himself for another battle against childhood cancer, hoping for another epic event -- and this time he's asking fans to enlist to join the fight themselves.

GivingTuesday takes place on December 1, 2015, bringing together charities, families, businesses, community centers and students around the world to make a difference. In its fourth year, GivingTuesday harnesses the potential of social media to draw global attention and contributions to worthy charities. The #GivingTuesday hashtag represents 30,000+ partners in 68 countries, 15.4 Billion global impressions in print and social media -- an estimated 470 percent increase in online donations since its inception.

For Christopher's Haven, donations are not only the lifeblood of their mission and success, each contribution honors the real Superheroes -- kids and families who have fought and won their battles. With Chris Evans leading this charge, Christopher's Haven is asking anyone -- individuals and businesses -- to assemble a team and participate in any and all of the following ways, beginning on November 1 with accumulated donations being presented on GivingTuesday. For all posts, also use the hashtag #TheRealSuperHeroes:

  • Consider a Movie Manifesto -- Record a 30 second Vine or YouTube video to state your position, provide your backstory and give us your battle cry
  • Take Selfies -- Tag Christopher's Haven on social media with pictures of you or your team with the campaign sign (available here) to show your support and draw others to the cause
  • Fight as One -- Use the social media site of your choice (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, etc.) to promote your own content, and follow and share the content of your team leaders at Christopher's Haven.
  • Have Fun -- Consider hosting smaller skirmishes among teams of friends and co-workers, and GET CREATIVE FOR THE CAUSE

"We are humbled yet again by the generosity and energy that Chris brings, and we're so very thankful he's on our side," said Joyce Duvall, executive director of Christopher's Haven. "Chris' words that the children of the Haven are the real superheroes echo through our halls daily. And like the character he portrays, he can't do it alone. Christopher's Haven is a community and that's what it takes. GivingTuesday gives us another opportunity to gather the many voices needed to engage and amplify our message. By doing so, we have the potential of turning the generosity of one into the cause and the force of many."
