TeamDynamixHE Supports Virginia Tech's Enterprise Systems Department With Project and Portfolio Management

University's ES Group to Use Centralized Solution for Prioritizing Projects Across the Entire Organization

COLUMBUS, OH--(Marketwire - October 12, 2010) -  TeamDynamixHE today announced that Virginia Tech University's Enterprise Systems (ES) department has selected the company's project and portfolio management (PPM) software to manage all project and portfolio activity. TeamDynamixHE is a Web-based solution that was developed specifically to accommodate the needs of Higher Education institutions, and will help the ES team at Virginia Tech to plan, track and prioritize projects, manage resources and meet commitments on time and on budget.

Prior to deploying TeamDynamixHE, Virginia Tech's ES staff used a number of solutions to manage project and portfolio activity, including Microsoft Project, web-based issue tracking software, and spreadsheets. The main challenge of the blend of applications and spreadsheets was that the spreadsheets used to track project requests and handle prioritization were maintained at the team level and were not available to the entire department.

"We needed a centralized solution that would allow us to prioritize projects across the entire organization using consistent metrics," said Kenneth McCrery, manager of Integration & Portal Services at Virginia Tech. "When we started our search, we were not looking for a six-figure solution, but with TeamDynamixHE, we feel like we got one. TeamDynamixHE provides a lot of value for the price. Its web interface is very clean and intuitive, and the list of features is extensive. TeamDynamixHE's focus on the Higher Education market also made a difference."

TeamDynamixHE will serve as the central location for all projects and will also help to manage Enterprise System's project request process.

McCrery added, "We are in the process of defining all our goals and criteria based around the strategic goals of the university so that we can consistently score requests and prioritize accordingly. Long term, we envision using TeamDynamixHE to manage resources to more effectively schedule project work. With a clearer picture of our projects and resources, we will be able to improve our project approval process, as the important, high-value projects will naturally rise to top and receive the necessary resources."

"Virginia Tech is a highly respected center of innovation and research, and we look forward to assisting the Enterprise Systems department in its mission to support the university with critical information services," said Andrew Graf, lead analyst with TeamDynamixHE.
