TEC Canada Announces Pilot Program for Young Leaders

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Jan. 12, 2011) - TEC Canada's vision is to accelerate the growth and advancement of Canadian business through professional development and executive mentoring. The Aspire Program (TAP) is a pilot initiative in Vancouver that will allow young leaders to realize their vision for the future of Canadian business and embolden their role in shaping it.

TAP Chair Andrew Parkes has been instrumental in creating the program for TEC. "Young professionals do not want to work in the traditional way. They are not willing to put in 60+ hour work weeks at the beginning of their career for advancement or benefits that are not aligned with where they want to be in the future. In other words, they aren't willing to sacrifice quality of life today for rewards in the future that are uncertain or undesired."

Parkes asserts, "The program is designed to help members accelerate into a role within their company as a senior executive, and ultimately, as CEO." TAP will give high potential young professionals assistance with career planning, work life balance, goal and value discovery, as well as accountability for key actions. "The peer support and networking opportunities gained through the program will be a priceless asset for all members."

President of TEC Canada, Catherine Osler is elated about the new pilot program. "Tapping in to the large number of aspiring young professionals who will be the next leaders of Canadian business is the natural evolution of TEC, as we offer the same coaching and mentorship to the leaders of today, and tomorrow." TEC offers programs for chief executives, presidents and business owners as well as their senior executives and trusted advisors. "With a growing number of emerging leaders, now is the time to foster their development in concert with TEC's other programs."

Tomorrow's leaders need the same mentoring as CEOs and presidents. "As they close gaps in leadership and accelerate into positions with greater responsibility, TAP will provide members with structure, learning and accountability," affirms Parkes.

Both Parkes and Osler agree that "aspire" is truly is an apt name for the program because potential members will be achieving their ambitions and demanding success like never before. For more information on TAP, visit http://www.tec-canada.com/aspire.
