TEC Researchers Find Meridian LMS 'Dominant in E-Learning, E-Commerce'

Meridian Learning Management System Now a TEC Certified Product

HERNDON, VA--(Marketwire - Jul 25, 2011) - Researchers at Montreal-based Technology Evaluation Centers have analyzed Meridian Global LMS 2011 -- a software platform for reporting on, analyzing and delivering training via the internet -- and found the software "dominant" in eight of thirteen categories including e-learning, e-commerce and reporting.

Among the tools TEC uses to show how Meridian compares to other learning management system (LMS) on the market is The TEC Focus Indicator™, which ranks LMS features against an industry average and positions the results in one of three zones: Dominant, Competitive and Minimal Support. TEC says products with features falling within the dominant zone "are likely to be competitive differentiators."

TEC's research team wrote that "Meridian Global LMS 2011 has eight modules located in the Dominant Zone: Classroom Training Management, E-learning Management, Course Content/Learning Object Management, Performance Support, Blended Learning, Competency and Performance Management, E-commerce Support, and Reporting."

For the five remaining criteria -- which are Custom Content Authoring/Publishing Tools, Virtual Classrooms, Communication and Collaboration, Assessment and Evaluation, and Analytics -- Meridian's LMS fell within the Competitive Zone. Any functionality placed within TEC's Competitive Zone indicates those product criteria are on par with other LMS on the market.

Along with the technical review of Meridian Global LMS 2011, TEC's research team also gave kudos in its report to the company's approach to customer service.
