Tech Celebs Reid Hoffman & Brian Chesky Talk About the Road to Valley Stardom

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - Oct 28, 2011) - INFORUM announces an upcoming program with two notable tech leaders of today, Reid Hoffman of LinkedIn and Brian Chesky of Airbnb. In this INFORUM discussion moderated by Brad Stone of Bloomberg Businessweek, the two CEOs will compare their roads to success taking very different routes.

Reid Hoffman has taken the long steady route to success before taking LinkedIn, a social network used primarily for business connections and job searching, to a public offering at more than $8 billion this past spring. Prior to LinkedIn, Hoffman served as the executive vice president of PayPal and helped to lead PayPal's acquisition to eBay. After PayPal's acquisition in 2002, Hoffman became one of Silicon Valley's most prolific and successful angel investors and has invested in many different companies including Facebook, Zynga, and Flickr.

Brian Chesky is known as a young internet entrepreneur who shot to fame. Named the "Best Young Tech Entrepreneur" in 2009 by Businessweek, Chesky is the founder and current CEO of Airbnb, an online service that matches people looking for vacation rentals and other short-term accommodations with those with rooms to rent. As it dove into the world of self-monitoring online marketplaces, Airbnb has changed the way people look at ownership and ruffled some feathers along the way. Despite recent controversy, Airbnb experienced rapid growth and currently has more than 100,000 listings in 16,000 cities and 186 countries.

In conversation with Brad Stone, the senior technology writer of Bloomberg Businessweek, this tech duo will come together to reveal the secrets to being a leader, building trust, and harnessing the power of the Internet to become a successful entrepreneur.

The special program will take place at the Commonwealth Club at 595 Market Street, 2nd Floor, in San Francisco on Wednesday, Nov. 2, at 7:30 p.m. For more information and to buy tickets, call (415)-597-6705 or register online at Follow INFORUM on Twitter: @INFORUMsf or #INFORUMsf.
