Tech Lighting Unveils New Innovations for 2010 at the Dallas International Lighting and Accessories Market

Highlights Include Easy-to-Install MonoRail/FreeJack Speaker System, Environmentally Friendly Product Line, and New Designs by Bacchus Glass

DALLAS, TX and CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - January 13, 2010) - Tech Lighting, a Chicago-based manufacturer of premium decorative lighting, will unveil new lighting innovations for 2010 at its showroom (#4705 in the Dallas Market Center) during the International Lighting and Accessories Market, January 14-18, 2010.

"We couldn't be more excited to showcase Tech Lighting's new products for 2010," said Sean Lavin, VP of Product Design for Tech Lighting. "We've listened to our customers and designed our new products to meet their specific requests for creative yet timeless designs and reliability. Like all of Tech Lighting's products, our 2010 collection has been carefully crafted to deliver outstanding functionality and value far beyond just illumination."

Visitors to the Tech Lighting Showroom will be the first to preview Rail Tones -- Tech Lighting's patent pending, breakthrough wireless audio speaker system that mounts to and is powered by Tech Lighting's low-voltage lighting systems. With Rail Tones, which will be available in May 2010, homeowners will be able to effortlessly add surround sound throughout their home simply by connecting the speakers to Tech Lighting's lighting systems without any additional installation and the wireless transmitter to almost any audio device. The system features uncompressed DVD-quality audio for superb sound.

The Rail Tones kit will include two wireless speakers, one wireless transmitter (plus power adaptor/cords) and one remote control with volume control and six pre-set equalizer options, allowing users to control each speaker individually. Additional speakers and a sub-woofer can be purchased separately.

Also new from Tech Lighting is the company's environmentally friendly Boreal collection. Designed for green home/building designers and enthusiasts, this unique green lighting collection takes all aspects of the environment into account. The shades are made of natural hemp fabric with a recycled paper backing and recycled sand-cast bronze metal detailing. Both the fabric shade and recycled bronze are sourced locally within 20 miles of the Tech Lighting headquarters. Energy-saving LED and compact fluorescent lamping options are available, and the product ships in environmentally friendly recycled packaging -- also sourced locally.

Tech Lighting will be showcasing exquisite signature pieces from the renowned hand blown glass studio of Bacchus Glass, including several designs created exclusively for Tech Lighting's customers. Master glass blower Frank Cavaz and designer Julie Carcione Cavaz founded Bacchus Glass in the heart of the Carneros wine growing region in Sonoma, California. The studio creates stunning works of hand blown glass art and light fixtures.

Tech Lighting will also be showcasing more than two dozen new signature line-voltage and low-voltage pendants, wall sconces, ceiling fixtures and chandeliers. For images and descriptions of these new products, please view the 2010 new product fact sheet at

Tech Lighting is introducing two new low-voltage heads. The Envision head was inspired by Tech Lighting's ELEMENT line of fully adjustable and lockable recessed downlights. It is a specification grade head with precision internal gearing mechanisms that allow for hot aiming with a phillips or flat head screwdriver. All gears are self-locking. The Scania head features a fresh, Scandinavian-inspired design and is offered in a satin nickel finish or two modern paint finishes including burnt sienna or linen.

Tech Lighting will also be showcasing enhancements made to its industry leading MonoRail system in response to customer requests for a more visually appealing surface transformer, flusher rail system and improved FreeJack connector. The new MonoRail system features one inch standoffs and low-profile power feed canopies, which allows the system to sit closer to the ceiling. Tech Lighting is also introducing a Remodel Recessed Transformer, which combines the aesthetics of remote transformers with the flexibility of surface transformers. The transformer is concealed inside a housing that recesses above the ceiling; the decorative canopy is the only visible portion of the transformer once installed.
