Tech Lighting Unveils Suite of Next-Generation Architectural LED Downlight Lamping, Offering Comprehensive Solutions for Small Aperture Lighting Needs

Broad New ELEMENT LED Collection Offers Superior Performance, Quality and Uncompromising Design

PHILADELPHIA, PA and CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - May 17, 2011) - In 2010, Tech Lighting received a prestigious LIGHTFAIR International Innovation Award for its ELEMENT 3" LED Downlight. Tech Lighting now returns to the show in 2011 with the broadest portfolio of small aperture LED downlights in the industry.

"We have leveraged our LED partnership with Lighting Science Group Corporation, the latest technology, and our engineering expertise to launch one of the strongest offerings in our company's history," said Josh Weiss, General Manager of Tech Lighting. "We now have an ELEMENT LED downlight for nearly every application, where aesthetics and performance both matter, and even the most discerning customer can fall in love with LED."

With this latest offering, Tech Lighting will offer Adjustable, Downlight, Wall Wash, Low-Profile (for shallow plenums), and Remodel versions in its 3" LED downlight family. All models are available with round and square die cast trims and feature an 18-watt replaceable LED module/power supply, 850+ lumens, 2700°, 3000° and 4000°K color temperature with 3-step McAdam Ellipse Binning, 86 CRI, and multiple beam spreads. They are dimmable with most standard incandescent dimmers and have a rated life of 50,000 hours (L70).

The ELEMENT 3"LED Adjustable offers 0° - 40° hot aiming and 361° rotation for no dead spots. Easy adjustability goes a step further with Tech Lighting's proprietary high-low lamp positioning, allowing the option to position the LED closer to the aperture for maximum light output and efficiency or higher in the housing to minimize glare and flash on the trims.

"In designing our new adjustable downlight we wanted to account for the varying needs of our customers," said Weiss. "Some prefer that the light source sits higher in the aperture while others are focused on maximizing light levels exiting the aperture. We didn't feel they should have to choose or compromise, so now they can customize each fixture onsite in a matter of a few seconds while the fixture is illuminated."

A summary of the 3" ELEMENT LED Downlight Product Line features accompanies this release.

In addition to Tech Lighting's ELEMENT LED Downlight offering, the Company will also be showcasing its new IBISSHeads for Low-Voltage Systems. Tech Lighting designed these heads specifically around what is possible with LED resulting in a form that would never be possible with traditional lamping. Going beyond simply incorporating LED, the IBISS Heads are beautiful in their minimalist simplicity and deliver ultimate performance. Constructed of die cast aluminum, the IBISS heads pivot vertically 330° and rotate horizontally 360°. They are available in a 10-watt single (600 lumens) or 20-watt double (1200 lumens) version. Each LED module pivots independently on the double version. It is available in flood or asymmetric wall wash distributions. An embedded lens helps diffuse glare and minimize shadowing. It is offered in 2700°K, is dimmable to 10% with a low-voltage electronic dimmer, and has a rated life of 50,000 hours (L70).

All Tech Lighting LED products come with a five-year warranty.

Tech Lighting will also use LIGHTFAIR to showcase new versions of its popular line-voltage track heads (Envision LED, Om and Sportster) now available for traditional track lighting systems using track adapters for incandescent, compact fluorescent and ceramic metal halide lamping.
