The sessions address vital issues around the Internet of Things (IoT) and convergence and will include prominent IP experts from the world's leading technology companies.

On June 19, Mr. MacLean will lead "Boot Camp: The Internet of Things," which will provide an in-depth look into the IoT patent landscape and explore major IP issues facing corporate executives. He will be joined by Micky Minhas, vice-president, IP licensing and engineering from Microsoft, Michael Pierantozzi, strategic business development executive, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and Joseph Sommer, vice president, Intellectual Property at AT&T. The panel will discuss IoT market leaders, IP IoT management and licensing challenges, and the future of IoT technology.

Mr. McLean's session on June 20, "Meeting the Convergence Challenge," will examine how technological developments create significant overlaps between industries and sectors that previously were distinct. The expert panel will discuss the challenges this creates for corporate IP leaders including the impact on IP strategies, open vs. proprietary technology, and aligning IP and business goals. He will be joined by Erich Andersen, corporate vice president and chief IP counsel of Microsoft, Monica Magnusson, vice president and head IP rights policy, Ericsson, Courtney Quish, vice president, patent strategy at Rovi Corporation, a TiVo Company, and Bruce Schelkopf, chief IP officer at ABB.
