Technical Management Program at UCLA Extension Marks 60th Year, September 13-18, 2015

Annual Event Ignites Innovation & Forward-Thinking and Offers Inspiration to Managers and Leaders

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwired - Jul 30, 2015) - On September 13-18, 2015, Technical Management Program (TMP) convenes a highly anticipated week-long experience for engineers and managers representing many industries at Covel Commons, UCLA Campus.

For 60 years, TMP at UCLA Extension has been supporting and training managers in technical fields, from engineering, IT, aerospace, communications, gaming and pharmaceuticals, to lead with innovation and project management skills advanced from best practices and current methodologies.

"The Technical Management Program 60th anniversary milestone builds on the forward-thinking concept of bringing technical professionals together to explore fresh strategic management approaches for their organizations," says Dr. Varaz Shahmirian, Director, Engineering & Technology at UCLA Extension. "These managers are leading high impact business projects in their field, involving millions of dollars. We have created a collegial forum with noteworthy faculty for discussion, conceptual and practical planning, and problem-solving."

According to Bloomberg Business, California-based technology companies brought in $692 billion in revenue in the past 12 months, about half the industry's sales across the U.S. California leads U.S. states in agriculture, technology and manufacturing revenue growth, Bloomberg data shows, and it is home to more companies on the S&P 500 than any other state.

In a Bloomberg interview at the beginning of the year, Governor Jerry Brown notes, "It is the diversity of the California business environment, from movies to the Internet to agriculture -- the incredible array of businesses that make up the state...All this gives security and keeps California very much in the forefront of investment, change, cultural adaptation and leadership."

The TMP audience is familiar with innovative technical projects, influencing R&D, enterprise, and impacting their organization's bottom line. Boeing, JPL, GM, DirecTV, Symantec and more have sent participants.

The September TMP schedule meets daily, 8am-6pm, with four-period formats on different topics to allow intensive learning in a relaxed environment. The early enrollment fee is $3950, before August 13th. After August 13th, the fee increases to $4395. The fee includes materials, some meals, and parking.
