Technobois S.O.S. Emploi (Abitibi-Est) Receives Financial Support from Government of Canada

VAL-D'OR, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - June 20, 2013) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec and Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, announces that Technobois S.O.S Emploi (Abitibi-Est) has been granted financial assistance for the construction of a plant in the Val-d'Or industrial park and for the acquisition of equipment. The enterprise unveiled the scale model of its new building this morning.

"Fostering the economic growth of communities is a priority for the Government of Canada. That is the message we are sending today by helping fund the construction, in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, of a plant that will be at the heart of local life in the region," said Minister Lebel.

Technobois S.O.S Emploi (Abitibi-Est) is a social and professional insertion enterprise that focuses its production activities on sectors not exploited by other manufacturers in the region. The enterprise manufactures small wooden components for a variety of clients. This project will enable Technobois to expand its product range and thereby ensure its development.

"Our government remains focused on four priorities, as outlined by the Prime Minister, that Canadians care most about: their families, the safety of our streets and communities, their pride in being a citizen of this country, and of course, their personal financial security," Minister Lebel concluded.

This assistance, granted in the form of a $1,765,725 non-repayable financial contribution, has been awarded through Canada Economic Development's Quebec Economic Development Program.
