Technology Council of Southern California Now Accepting Presenter and Exhibitor Applications for VentureNet™ 2009

Capital Presentation Submissions for Fourteenth Annual Event Due September 11, 2009

TORRANCE, CA--(Marketwire - August 31, 2009) - The Technology Council of Southern California,, today announced that it has begun accepting submissions for capital presenters and exhibitors for VentureNet™ 2009, the region's premier capital conference for software and information technology companies.

This year's fourteenth annual conference will be held October 7, 2009 at the Westin South Coast Plaza Hotel in Costa Mesa, Calif. Applications to present may be made online at, or by calling (310) 325-4000. The deadline for submitting applications is September 11, 2009.

Last year's VentureNet™ 2008 included presentations from CampusExplorer, Inc.,, DialPlus, Inc., Digital Performance, Inc. and several other Southern California technology companies. Magnify360 was selected as Best in Show winner.

A business plan review committee will evaluate each capital presentation submission. The committee consists of prominent investors from these firms: Rustic Canyon Partners, Palomar Ventures, GIDEON Informatics, MHS Capital, DFJ Frontier, Mission Ventures, GRP Partners, Intel Capital and many others. The committee will select the 10 strongest applicants, which typically include companies ranging from start-ups to mid-market organizations, to make presentations at the conference.

Submissions will be evaluated on a number of criteria, including:

--  Products and services
--  Competitive advantage
--  Management team
--  Potential growth rate and size
--  Financial model (including the amount of capital being raised)
--  Opportunity to create shareholder value

Selected companies will each make a 10-minute presentation followed by an investor panel offering presenters and attendees alike valuable feedback on what works and what doesn't.

Twenty companies, including the 10 presenting, will be invited to exhibit in the Entrepreneur's Showcase, where much of the conference's networking takes place.
