TECTERRA Announces Funding for Geomatics Applied Research Projects at MRU and NAIT

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - April 3, 2012) - TECTERRA Inc. is pleased to announce that they have signed agreements with both Mount Royal University (MRU) and the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) to fund applied geomatics research at both institutions. These agreements have resulted in two individual Calls for Proposals (CFP) from researchers at both MRU and NAIT. The CFPs have a deadline of April 19, 2012 and are for the commercialization of geomatics products and services for integrated resource management.

"The two funding agreements with MRU and NAIT further expand TECTERRA's support to the commercialization of geomatics applied research throughout Alberta. Adding MRU and NAIT to TECTERRA's portfolio of partner Alberta post-secondary institutions will enable TECTERRA to continue the investment in innovation to bring geomatics technology solutions to critical resource management applications in the province," said Dr. Mohamed Abousalem, Chief Executive Officer of TECTERRA.

Applicants under these calls for proposals will be principal investigators from MRU and NAIT working in partnership with a Canadian for-profit company and/or an end-user government agency to address a specific resource management operational challenge or a significant market need.

The funded projects will be great training opportunities for current and recently-graduated MRU and NAIT students to engage in practical geomatics applications and apply their technical and vocational skills in real-life applications.

Project funding will range from $50K to $300K, depending on the scope and duration of the project. Interested parties can apply for the respective program by visiting TECTERRA's website at www.tecterra.com.
