Teen Triplets Launch 'Polar Bear Nation' Clothing Line to Save Polar Bears, Fund Educational Scholarships and Mobilize Youth Joins Forces With Polar Bears International to Fund Scientific Research and Send Teens to Arctic Ambassador Leadership Camp in Support of Year of the Polar Bear Initiative in 2008

ANNAPOLIS, MD--(Marketwire - November 21, 2007) - For 15-year-old Maryland triplets Connor, Emma and Hayley Gilbert, only one item appears on their holiday wish list: Save Polar Bears from extinction. In pursuit of this goal, the sibling entrepreneurs today announced Polar Bear Nation, an exclusive line of 'conservation clothing' available only at Fifty percent of the proceeds from the sale of Polar Bear Nation apparel will go to non-profit organization Polar Bears International (PBI) to help fund important scientific research and educational scholarships as part of the group's 'Year of the Polar Bear' initiative in 2008. Additional funds are earmarked to further develop the Polar Bear Nation community online and spread the word with teens worldwide.

Polar Bear Nation has outlined four immediate goals that they hope to achieve by the end of this holiday season: 1) raise awareness of the plight of polar bears both in the U.S. and internationally, 2) increase donations for non-profit organizations such as Polar Bears International, which focus on the worldwide conservation and protection of polar bears, 3) raise funds to send teens from around the world to PBI's Adventure Learning Program Leadership Camp next fall to study polar bears and 4) mobilize the leaders of tomorrow to get involved in the effort to help save the polar bears, encourage conversation and spark global understanding.

"Hayley, Emma, and I found out about the struggle polar bears face for their survival, and we knew we had to do something," said Connor Gilbert, Co-Founder of "Our idea was to create the Polar Bear Nation, an international group of citizens concerned about protecting the Earth and saving polar bears from extinction."

According to the latest research from the U.S. Geological Survey, if immediate action isn't taken, most of the world's polar bears could disappear by 2050, casualties of global warming and the loss of Arctic sea ice.

PBI's Year of the Polar Bear initiative is a worldwide consortium including many of the world's major zoos, top scientists and conservation organizations. By declaring 2008 to be the Year of the Polar Bear, PBI hopes to educate the public about the polar bears' struggle for survival through their local zoos, schools, and media outlets.

"My siblings and I have always been concerned with the environment, but we never really thought we could make a difference," said Hayley Gilbert, Co-Founder of "For anyone else who feels that way, we're here to tell you, don't get discouraged. You CAN make changes in your life that will help. You CAN contact your policymakers. You CAN make a difference -- and you can look good doing it!"

The Polar Bear Nation clothing line includes stylish and warm embroidered fleece quarter-zip jackets and sweatpants, short and long-sleeve cotton t-shirts and cotton sweatpants -- all of which feature the colorful Polar Bear Nation logo or the flags of the five Polar Bear nations (U.S., Canada, Russia, Greenland and Norway). All items are priced under $40, making Polar Bear Nation apparel a perfect gift idea for the environmentally-conscious person on every holiday shopping list.

About Polar Bear Nation:

Polar Bear Nation was founded by Connor, Hayley, and Emma Gilbert, 15-year-old triplets from Annapolis, MD who want to make a difference in the world.

When we heard about all the problems polar bears now face, we wanted to help. Global warming has melted polar sea ice, resulting in a rapid loss of Polar Bear habitat that could have a catastrophic impact on the species and in turn humans.

So, we created our Polar Bear Nation line of clothing to spread awareness of the polar bears' problems. Fifty percent of our profit is donated to Polar Bears International, the world's leading polar bear charity.
