Tekelec to Discuss LTE and EPC Technologies at 1st FOKUS FUSECO Forum on Seamless Communication

Panel Will Address Standards, Products and Business Cases

MORRISVILLE, NC--(Marketwire - October 13, 2010) - Tekelec (NASDAQ: TKLC), the broadband data management company, is a presenter and silver sponsor at the 1st FOKUS FUSECO Forum on Seamless Communication, held October 14-15 in Berlin, Germany. Alain Dakroub, market development director for policy management, will speak on the panel "Standards, Products, and Business Cases for Future Seamless Communication" on October 15 at 11:45 a.m. CET.

The panel will discuss where long-term evolution (LTE) and evolved packet core (EPC) technologies stand today, as well as the future challenges that the industry still needs to address. Key questions the panel will address include:

  • What is the LTE business case?
  • Is LTE/EPC ready for the machine-to-machine (M2M) service market?
  • Is LTE/EPC ready for international roaming?

Dakroub joined Tekelec through the acquisition of Blueslice Networks in May 2010. Prior to Blueslice, he spent 11 years at Nortel in various roles, including R&D, operations, marketing and sales.

Tekelec's LTE and IMS solutions help operators meet the demands of today's data-driven world. As Heavy Reading noted in its "Policy Control: Adapting For What's Next" white paper, available for free on Tekelec's website, "the existing service model looks ill-equipped to deal with the twin impact of increasing traffic and increasing uncertainty" of applications and characteristics that will drive user traffic in the next three to five years. Tekelec provides several configurable solutions for service providers' LTE and IMS needs, providing holistic views of the network, subscribers and service usage.
