Tekelec Names Hubert de Pesquidoux as Chairman of the Board

MORRISVILLE, NC--(Marketwire - May 17, 2011) - Tekelec (NASDAQ: TKLC), the mobile broadband solutions company, has appointed Hubert de Pesquidoux as the Chairman of the Board of Directors. He replaces Mark Floyd, who did not stand for re-election.

A Board member since 2009, de Pesquidoux serves on Tekelec's Audit and Corporate Development Committees. He is the former chief financial officer (CFO) of Alcatel-Lucent and president of the Enterprise Business Group of Alcatel-Lucent. Prior to those roles, he was a member of the Alcatel Executive Committee.

In his nearly 20-year career at Alcatel-Lucent SA (and its predecessor, Alcatel), de Pesquidoux's executive positions included executive vice president; president of Alcatel North America; chief operating officer (COO) of Alcatel North America; chief executive officer (CEO) of Alcatel Canada; and CFO of Alcatel USA. He joined Alcatel in 1991.

De Pesquidoux holds a master's degree in law and a master's degree in business from the Institute for Political Studies (Sciences Po) in Paris and a DESS in Finance from Paris Dauphine University.

"Hubert's broad international experience and telecom knowledge will be of immense help as Tekelec transitions to a new CEO and the company continues to execute its long-term strategy of building solutions to address the growth in mobile data and video," said Krish Prabhu, Tekelec's interim CEO.
