Tekelec to Discuss Mobile Video Pricing Plans at Policy Control Conference

Will Highlight New Win-Win Consumer-Driven Pricing Models

MORRISVILLE, NC--(Marketwire - April 5, 2011) - Tekelec (NASDAQ: TKLC), the mobile broadband solutions company, is a bronze sponsor and speaker at the Policy Control Conference, to be held April 5-6 at the Marriott Hotel in Amsterdam. Randy Fuller, strategic marketing director, will present original research on consumers' attitudes toward mobile video pricing and services on April 6 from 12:25 p.m. to 12:50 p.m. CET.

Tekelec recently identified innovative win-win pricing plans in research on mobile video pricing with industry analyst firm Strategy Analytics. Fuller will share findings revealing that subscribers desire more segmented plans that better fit their personal usage preferences. For example, nearly half of respondents indicated that they would pay an additional $5/month for unlimited browsing that includes video traffic limits as one new pricing option.

Tekelec's policy management solutions reach 44 service providers -- including 32 tier-one operators -- across 27 countries, where the company is collaborating with customers to create revenue-generating offers and improve the subscriber experience. In March, research and consultancy firm Analysys Mason named Tekelec the "leading independent software vendor in the policy management segment" for two consecutive years, measured by global market share. Customers include multiple Vodafone and Telefónica properties and the Verizon Wireless LTE network.
