Tekelec to Participate in Net Neutrality Panel at Futurecom 2010

Company Exhibiting Broadband Data Solutions at Latin America's Largest Telecommunications Event

MORRISVILLE, NC--(Marketwire - October 20, 2010) -  Tekelec (NASDAQ: TKLC), the broadband data management company, will take part in the panel "Internet Network Neutrality and the Future of Business" at Futurecom 2010. The show takes place October 25-28 at ExpoTransamerica in São Paulo, Brazil, with the panel scheduled on October 27 from 2:40 - 3:50 p.m. local time in the "Chile" room. Tekelec will also exhibit at stand A19.

The net neutrality panel gathers Tier One operators Claro, Telefónica and Vivo, Brazilian telecommunications regulator Anatel, Tekelec and other industry participants. The group will discuss prioritization and pricing of content and the effects on service provider business models. As a leading provider of policy management systems in data networks, Tekelec has particular expertise in the beneficial services and network management needs of next generation operator networks, which require special consideration when assessing principles of network neutrality.

Tekelec's panelist, Paulo Souza, is vice president of market development for Tekelec. He has led the company's efforts to become one of Brazil's major providers of session management solutions.
