Tektronix Named Finalist in Prestigious 2010 EDN Innovation Awards Competition

TLA7SAxx Series Logic Protocol Analyzer for PCI Express 3.0 in the Running for Innovation of the Year; Test and Measurement Systems and Boards Category

BEAVERTON, OR--(Marketwire - March 7, 2011) - Tektronix, Inc., a leading worldwide provider of test, measurement and monitoring instrumentation, today announced its TLA7SAxx Series Logic Protocol Analyzer for PCI Express 3.0 was named a finalist in EDN's 21st annual Innovation Awards (http://innovation.edn.com/) for Test and Measurement Systems and Boards category. The TLA7SAxx Series logic protocol analyzer modules provide an innovative approach to PCI Express validation that spans all layers of the protocol from the physical layer to the transaction layer.

Over its lifetime of more than 50 years, EDN has witnessed many distinguished achievements. In 1990, it embarked on a special mission to honor the most innovative technological advancements -- and the designers who invent them. The EDN Innovation Awards program is now in its 21st year and proudly continues its tradition of recognizing rich talent in our industry in several categories. We encourage you to visit www.edn.com/innovation21 and cast your vote by March 31. Winners will be announced at a dinner and awards ceremony on May 2, 2011, in San Jose, CA.

"EDN is a significant industry publication with an exceptional understanding of the test and measurement needs of today's technology innovators," said Dave Farrell, Director, Logic Analyzers, Tektronix. "It is a great honor to be selected as a finalist in this exclusive awards program which gives credence to our proven track record of meeting our customers' advanced requirements, of which we are most proud."

About the TLA7SAXX Series Logic Protocol Analyzer for PCI Express 3.0
Testing challenges in PCI Express can come from any of the layers of the PCIe protocol stack, whether it is the transaction layer or the PHY layer. Previously, engineers needed an oscilloscope and a protocol analyzer to perform the necessary testing. The TLA7SAxx Series logic protocol analyzer for PCI Express 3.0 is designed as a single tool to cover the protocol layer to the physical layer. It helps system, hardware, and software engineers perform collaborative debug and quickly root cause system issues. To enhance the physical layer visibility on the TLA7SAxx, Tektronix incorporated its OpenEYE technology into the system's design. OpenEYE provides automatic tuning equalization to enable a more rapid evaluation of the PCI Express Channel's physical-layer performance without a deep knowledge of oscilloscope setup experience.
