The Xypoint LBS Solutions demonstrated by TCS included:

  • Gateway Mobile Location Center (GMLC), which coordinates activities to ensure that a location is obtained and returned to the requesting application;
  • Serving Mobile Location Server (SMLC), used for determining the coordinates of a handset based on network measurements;
  • Secure User Plane Location (SUPL) servers, which support Assisted-GPS precise location determination, enabling commercial services for applications that require precise positioning (e.g. Navigation, Workforce Locator, Family Locator); and
  • Location Services Gateway, which serves as the interface between the LBS platform components and LBS applications using standards based communication protocols, and provides privacy, authentication, authorization, and transaction assurance

With Xypoint LBS Solutions, operators enable network and handset based locations services which drive data ARPU and connected device revenues.
