TeleCommunication Systems Executive to Speak at CTIA Wireless 2008

Joe Hannan, Vice President of Location Products, to Participate in Panel Session Titled "Innovative Solutions for Commercializing Location Based Services"

ANNAPOLIS, MD--(Marketwire - March 26, 2008) - CTIA - Booth # 1341 -- TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. (TCS) (NASDAQ: TSYS), a leading provider of mission-critical wireless communications, today announced that Joe Hannan, Vice President of Location Products, is speaking at CTIA WIRELESS 2008® at the Las Vegas Convention Center, April 1-3. Hannan will serve as a panelist in the educational session "Innovative Solutions for Commercializing Location Based Services (LBS)" within the Mobile "Customer-ization" track scheduled on April 2nd at 3:30 PM, Room N107 in the Las Vegas Convention Center.

This CTIA panel of LBS experts will discuss the evolution of LBS beyond navigation, focusing on how LBS serves both enterprise and consumer needs as separate applications, even though they are not currently fully integrated into the Mobile Lifestyle. Over time, utilization of these applications will become integral to fulfilling a wide range of the "Pro-Sumer's" information needs. Panelists will address the application development and business trends behind filling this Mobile Lifestyle need.

With other wireless industry leaders -- including moderator David Gill, Director of Client Services for Nielsen Mobile -- Hannan will discuss the selection of LBS implementation methodologies and will address LBS differences from both an application perspective and a network perspective, focusing on use cases and how each are fulfilled under different methodologies. TCS has been at the forefront of location innovation since its groundbreaking work carried out in the U.S. E9-1-1 environment over a decade ago.

"CTIA Wireless is one of the premier wireless conferences in the world, offering its attendees top learning tracks that address not only today's mobile needs, but how mobile will affect us all in the future," said Hannan. "It is an honor for TCS to speak on the location technology deployments that are rapidly becoming critical to the daily activities of businesses and consumers as they navigate through an increasingly mobile world. I look forward to sharing both my experiences in location deployment the past six years, and my views on the anticipated changes as carriers roll out new AGPS solutions which will enable advanced social networking and tracking applications as the next wave of location services."

CTIA's Educational Sessions are the most comprehensive in the wireless industry. The in-depth sessions address the most important issues facing the broad wireless ecosystem, including IT professionals, software developers, media companies, technology enablers and, of course, wireless carriers and wireless equipment and services providers as they work together to develop and implement wireless products and services.

"Our educational program is structured to address the important issues facing businesses in the wireless industry today," said Mark Desautels, vice president and show educational program director of CTIA WIRELESS. "From building the networks and applications of the future, to transforming the wireless device into a productivity tool, to effectively marketing and educating the world on the capabilities of the mobile device -- our team has developed a program that is focused on the informational needs of all of the industry's participants after having evaluated more than a thousand submissions from experts on these topics. And we are most pleased that TeleCommunication Systems has accepted our invitation to participate in our program."

This CTIA session, "Innovative Solutions for Commercializing Location Based Services (LBS)," within the Mobile "Customer-ization" is scheduled on April 2nd at 3:30 PM, Room N107 in the Las Vegas Convention Center.
