Telehop enables Canadians to directly support Tsunami Victims

Canadians Can Donate to Tsunami Relief by Calling Friends & Relatives on Telehop's Network Attention: Assignment Editor, Business/Financial Editor, News Editor, Tech/Telecomm Editor, World News Editor TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA --(CCNMatthews - Jan. 10, 2005) - Telehop Communications Inc., a leading Canadian alternative telecom carrier of long distance discount services to residential and business customers in Canada, announced a unique and easy method for all Canadians to directly donate to the South East Asian Tsunami relief effort today.

Starting on Tuesday January 11, 2005 at 4:00 p.m., until 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 12, 2005, all long distance calls made through the Telehop network to Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Maldives, Mauritius, Myanmar, Seychelles, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Thailand, and to the United States will be credited to the Telehop Tsunami Relief Fund. Telehop will then make a donation equal to the net revenue received by Telehop for these calls, to an international relief organization to aid tsunami victims in the affected countries.

Any Canadian with access to a landline telephone can dial Telehop's '10-10-620' service and then dial any friend or relative in any of the 13 countries affected by the Tsunami, to speak to them and enquire after their families' well-being and offer their best wishes. The call to each of the affected countries will be billed based on the length of the call at Telehop's normal discounted long distance rates with a minimum charge of $1.00 per call. The cost of the call will appear on the callers regular monthly phone bill as a "Telehop Network" call. Telehop will then donate the entire net revenues of all of its long distance traffic to these countries, to aid the victims of the Tsunami disaster in South East Asia.

For Canadians who wish to get involved, but do not have friends or relatives in the affected countries, Telehop has included all calls to the United States during this period as part of its donation program. Canadians can call friends and relatives in the USA knowing that the proceeds of their long distance call are being used to aid the Tsunami victims.

All calls through the Telehop network to the above countries during this period, including Direct Dial calls, calls through Telehop's "10-10-620" service, Telehop's "Cell 620" service or Telehop's BroadTalk(C) VOIP network, will be credited in the Telehop Tsunami Relief Fund.

Ruth Bartholomeusz, Chief Operating Officer of Telehop stated: "Telehop is offering all Canadians a very easy and convenient way to assist in the relief of the victims of the Tsunami disaster, by doing something they would normally do. By dialing '10-10-620' and calling a friend or a relative in one of the affected countries, Canadians can personally talk to and express their concern for these people and their well-being, whilst knowing that the net revenues from their phone call will be donated to help in the recovery from this disaster."

"If you want to assist the Tsunami victims, make a call on our network and allow us to donate for you. The more calls you place under this program, the more we donate for Tsunami relief."

"Telehop is pleased to make this small gesture to people who have suffered so much, and we are grateful to our partners in the Broadcast media for assisting us on such short notice, in this effort to aid these people."
