Nobile Construction Uses GPS Wireless Technology to Become More Efficient During Slowed Economy
Uses TeleNav Track™ Wireless Timecard Feature to Increase Billing Accuracy and Save On Gas
SUNNYVALE, CA and BRANFORD, CT--(Marketwire - August 5, 2008) - TeleNav, Inc. today announced that Nobile Construction, a full
service residential remodeling company, has improved employee timecard
accuracy, developed more efficient billing processes and saved on fuel with
the use of TeleNav Track™, a
cell phone GPS navigation and tracking service.
In operation since 1955, Nobile Construction provides Connecticut's
shoreline residents with kitchen, bath and full home remodel services. The
company has worked with over 1,500 customers in the past 15 years, with 50
percent of them being repeat business.
Nobile Construction has experienced challenges from the volatile
residential construction market, but has always been able to hold its
ground. However, after encountering a recent overall decline in remodel
requests, the company recognized it needed to find ways to make the
business run more efficiently -- especially when it came to collecting
employee timecards. With its carpenters traveling from job to job,
management gathered timesheets on a weekly basis. In order to submit their
hours, carpenters needed to constantly visit headquarters, creating
unnecessary expenses for drivers' commute times, as well as added vehicle
wear and fuel costs.
The company decided to implement TeleNav Track on its AT&T Tilt smartphones
to address many of these issues. By deploying TeleNav Track, Nobile
Construction is able to implement a more reliable and accurate timecard
system. In addition to eliminating unnecessary trips into the office each
week to turn in timecards, the fully wireless (and paperless) system
enables workers on the road to submit their time on a daily basis,
improving the overall accuracy for each job. Additionally, the office is
able to do job costing for each client on a daily basis, which has improved
the company's cash flow.
"We originally looked to the TeleNav Track service as a way to lessen the
time that it was taking our team to get their timecards dropped off at the
office," said Traci Knapp, general manager of Nobile Construction. "We
didn't initially expect TeleNav Track to help us reduce the number of hours
being logged out on the field. Although it may just be a few hours saved
each week, those extra hours alone are paying for the service time and time
again."
"Like many businesses being affected by today's slowed economy, Nobile
Construction was looking for a cost-effective solution to better monitor
the time being spent on each job. Wireless timecards are an excellent way
for companies with a mobile workforce to monitor how time is being spent,
as well as eliminate unnecessary paperwork and fuel costs," said Sal
Dhanani, co-founder and sr. director, marketing at TeleNav. "In a business
where repeat customers are crucial to success, TeleNav Track provides the
workforce management tools companies need to keep their efforts running as
efficiently as possible."
TeleNav Track enables organizations to optimize mobile workforce operations
through mobile GPS tracking and navigation, wireless timesheets, job
dispatching and wireless forms -- all using GPS-enabled mobile devices.
Currently, more than 8,000 organizations rely on TeleNav Track to help
manage their mobile resources.
