TeleNav and New York City Win Wireless Award at the Wireless Enterprise Symposium (WES)

TeleNav Track and Mayor Bloomberg's Office Receive 2008 Wireless Leadership Award for Innovation in the Public Sector

SUNNYVALE, CA--(Marketwire - May 20, 2008) - TeleNav, Inc., today announced that TeleNav Track™, a leading mobile resource management solution, AT&T and the City of New York Mayor's office have together received a Wireless Leadership Award at Wireless Enterprise Symposium 2008 under the category, 'Innovation in the Public Sector.'

The award category, 'Innovation in the Public Sector,' was created by Research In Motion to recognize the innovative ways government and public sector organizations use the BlackBerry wireless solution to stay in touch with important information -- whether it's protecting the public's safety, delivering superior service to constituents, contributing to higher education or ensuring the continuity of operations in emergencies.

The City of New York, supported by AT&T and TeleNav, launched the Street Conditions Observation Unit (SCOUT) last year. The mission of the SCOUT program is to drive every City street once per month and report conditions that negatively impact quality of life to the City's 311 citizen service hotline. Data is collected on a SCOUT inspector's BlackBerry smartphone using the 'Wireless Forms' feature of TeleNav Track and then wirelessly transmitted into the City's 311 system, which then routes the information to the relevant agency for appropriate corrective action. The goal of the SCOUT program is to improve street level quality of life in City neighborhoods and to further the responsiveness of City government to quality of life conditions.

"We are thrilled to receive an award for a program we started in order to make the City a more pleasant place to live," said Jeff Kay, the director of the Mayor's Office of Operations. "We are meeting our goal of covering every city street, every month, and we need a flexible wireless solution to do it. TeleNav Track gives us the key features we need to continue our success and improve New York City streets on a daily basis."

"It is an honor to be recognized by Research In Motion during WES for our work with the New York City Mayor's office," said HP Jin, CEO, president and co-founder of TeleNav. "At TeleNav, we set out to create solutions which will change how people work and travel on a daily basis. Through the SCOUT program's use of TeleNav Track, our services are having a positive effect on the 8.2 million residents of Manhattan. TeleNav Track provides city officials with tools that help ensure the safety of every person who uses the City's streets."

TeleNav Track is TeleNav's flagship mobile resource management service, enabling organizations to monitor and oversee their mobile workers and fleets using GPS tracking, information reporting and timesheet management. It also helps increase overall performance and efficiency through additional capabilities, including GPS navigation and wireless forms, dispatching and barcode scanning. Currently, more than 8,000 organizations rely on the service to help effectively manage their remote resources.

The judging panel from RIM presented the award to New York City at an awards ceremony, which took place during WES. As the honoree, the Mayor's office will receive an extensive prize package, including 10 BlackBerry smartphones and a BlackBerry Solution Services package.
