TelePresence Pioneer, Brian Kinne, Joins MCPc as CTO - Visual Collaboration

Kinne Joins MCPc's Thought Leadership CTO Team, Bringing Extensive Telepresence & Video Experience

CLEVELAND, OH--(Marketwired - January 22, 2014) - MCPc is pleased to announce the addition of Brian Kinne to its leadership group. Kinne will hold the post of chief technology officer - visual collaboration and vice president of the digital media group. Kinne comes to MCPc at the peak of an exciting career, during which he was the driving force of the telepresence movement, holding both management and go-to-market roles. Kinne will be instrumental to the development of the visual collaboration business unit, and reinforces that video/visual collaboration is at the forefront of MCPc's 2014 plan. The newly created Visual Collaboration Group, which includes MCPcTV Digital Media, is evidentiary of MCPc's further commitment to aligning internally with the collaboration desires of a vast and diverse customer base.

Kinne was instrumental in establishing the world's first telepresence company, TeleSuite Corporation, in 1995. The TeleSuite® offering included video as an alternative to travel, and was bolstered by the creation of an integrated marketing, sales, and account-management model specifically designed to address the telepresence market. Kinne then joined Teliris, Ltd., as senior vice president of sales, implementing a strategic and sales vision which widened their client base by 50% in the first 12 months, and increasing total profitability by 24%. Following Teliris, Kinne co-founded Destiny Conferencing, ultimately being acquired by Polycom, with Kinne accepting a role within Polycom's telepresence leadership group. During this time, Kinne established MedPresence Corp., the first entity to incorporate telepresence into the medical space, growing their business over 400% beyond initial projections. MedPresence is currently recognized as the only telepresence company to have successfully used telepresence inside the operating room. Kinne then joined Informata Communications as executive vice president, managing marketing, public relations, and sales and strategic partnerships.

"Brian brings a wealth of experience and insight to MCPc, having been responsible for the emergence of the technology itself," said Mike Trebilcock, chairman & chief executive officer, MCPc. "We are excited to support his vision of video, telepresence, and collaboration, and have invested heavily in the dozens of telepresence systems across our company in order to do that." MCPc is a significant user of Cisco telepresence equipment, recording a combined usage of more than 175 days' worth of time company-wide in the last 12 months.

Kinne was highlighted in a recent CRN article entitled "21 Game Changing Tips for Success in 2014." In the article, Kinne was labeled "one of the drivers behind the telepresence video boom in the technology business."

"I am thrilled to be a part of MCPc," Kinne said regarding his new role. "MCPc is a strong, agile tech firm whose consultative approach to technology is in a class by itself. I am looking forward to getting to work -- both in person and over telepresence, of course. MCPc's big bets on telepresence underscore its game-changing status -- we're changing how we're aligned both internally and externally," Kinne remarked. In addition to telepresence and video conferencing, Kinne's group will continue to expand and manage the fleet of more than 150 digital signs for MCPc and clients alike.

Immediately prior to MCPc, Kinne was with AVI-SPL, where he was a vice president - VNOC channel, focusing on promoting video managed services through the best-in-class telepresence providers such as Polycom and Cisco.

Kinne is a graduate of Anderson University where he received a degree in communications and business. He resides in Dayton, Ohio with his wife and three daughters.
