Televised National Hip-Hop Youth Summit Combats the Glamorization of Violence

NAPLES, FL -- (MARKET WIRE) -- July 10, 2006 -- TanzAmer Incorporated, a non-profit organization, and "The Cipher Show," a hip-hop television program, will produce a televised National Youth Summit on August 12, 2006 on the fairgrounds of The Golden Gate Community Center, located at 4701 Golden Gate Parkway in Naples, Florida. The event and the program it will promote is entitled "Hip Hop in Progress" and will feature live on-stage performances from hip-hop bands ranging in ages from 13-18 years old. This is the first event of its kind to ever be produced and filmed in the history of Southwest Florida. The event organizers want to draw youth across the nation, to a safe tropical environment, away from the rush of the inner city. The event is intended to combat the glamorization of violence and immorality in hip-hop by providing educational discussions and televising hip-hop performances displaying positive hip-hop themes.

According to Steven Jennings, the Producer of "The Cipher Show," "Record sales indicate society may feel crime is acceptable in hip-hop music, but I wonder if a rapper talking about statutory rape would cause a public uproar? I'm pretty sure it would, and this is a double standard. I feel that rather than sexual abuse, today's rap music is moral and intellectual abuse which may result in future criminal activity in youth."

The mission of "Hip Hop in Progress" is to create a positive vehicle to help At-Risk youth express themselves in a non-threatening environment, while promoting trends of positive messages and positive self-images in hip-hop. Event organizers believe the suggestive nature of hip-hop and criminal activities may entangle youth as the glamorization of violence progresses into the idolization of lawlessness.

The event organizers are seeking sponsors, volunteers and TV stations willing to air this program. All attendants should arrive at the fairgrounds at 1:00pm. The event will be filmed in Reality TV Format. So far, several television stations in Florida have committed to air this program on their channels.
