Television Personality, Ben Lyons Has Signed on to Judge Celebrity Video Distribution's Independent Film Contest

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - October 13, 2009) - Celebrity Video Distribution's Feature Length Independent Film Contest with prizes totaling $10,000.00 is now open for film submissions!

Ben is an American film critic and entertainment journalist whose work is broadcast across the globe. As a correspondent for E! Entertainment and ABC's 'Good Morning America,' Ben has interviewed countless A-List actors, actresses, directors, musicians, politicians, athletes and celebrities while covering red carpets, film festivals, and vesting movie sets around the world.

Ben is the grandson of legendary New York Post columnist Leonard Lyons and is the son of film and theater critic Jeffrey Lyons. Much of his childhood was spent among the world's most artistic and influential celebrities. The Lyons family has been covering pop culture in American media for more than 80 years. His first job on television was as the co-host of MTV's Your Movie Show with SuChin Pak. He was seen regularly on MSNBC, Access Hollywood and as recurring contributor to NBC's Reel Talk, the show he helped conceive for his father.

At the age of 26, he was tapped to succeed Roger Ebert & Richard Roeper as the co-host of Disney/Buena Vista's nationally syndicated, 'At The Movies,' the longest running & most prestigious movie review show of all time.

Now 28, Lyons has spent the last 4 years as E!'s resident film critic interviewing stars, covering red carpets, awards shows and hitting festivals for the network and E! Online. Each week on The Daily 10, Ben reviews new releases and classics in his signature segment the Lyons Den.

In addition to his E! duties, Ben is a regular contributing correspondent for Good Morning America on ABC. He hosted 'My Family's Got Guts' for Nickelodeon and ESPN's coverage of the National School Scrabble Championships. Since 2007, Lyons has also served as an entertainment consultant for The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

He has been a guest on The View, The Bonnie Hunt Show and The Spike Feresten Show as well as on CNN, Fox News, CNBC, The CBS Early Show, Good Day Live in Los Angeles and ESPN Radio. Ben is a supporter of several philanthropic organizations, including Matt Damon's charity OneXOne.
