KANSAS CITY, MO--(Marketwire - Mar 12, 2013) - 1102 Grand, Kansas City's premier carrier hotel, announces that customer TeliaSonera International Carrier (TSIC), a leading global IP carrier, has upgraded its services at 1102 Grand to a 100G core transport network.
TSIC's 100G DWDM service utilizes Infinera's DTN-X platform, allowing TSIC to support backbone traffic and deliver 100G services across North America. TSIC's network is capable of delivering up to 24 Tbps of capacity into the facility. This high capacity transport network upgrade is in response to growing demand and to support international network thoroughfare as well as new local fiber initiatives in and through Kansas City.
TSIC's new 100G transport routes are a three-way junction, providing added route diversity and capacity to its fiber backbone. The added routes will head east to St. Louis and Chicago (with round trip delays of 5.4 ms and 12.2 ms), west to Denver (11.8 ms) and San Francisco (36.6 ms), and south to Dallas (10.4 ms), Atlanta (30.8 ms) and Miami (47.2 ms), directly linking Europe to Kansas City and providing access to Asia and South America through 1102 Grand.
