TeliaSonera Selects Juniper Networks Market-Leading SSL VPN Platforms for Enhanced Managed Security Service in Scandinavia

SUNNYVALE, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- February 8, 2007 -- Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR) today announced that TeliaSonera, the leading telecommunications company in the Nordic and Baltic regions, has selected the Juniper Networks Secure Access SSL VPN family of appliances as the basis for a new enterprise remote secure access managed service offering. The initial service rollout will cover Finland, with plans to extend to other Nordic countries and Baltic regions in the future. Juniper's Secure Access technology enables browser-based mobile secure access via broadband, wireless, DSL and dial-up connections, and can also provide a cost-effective alternative to traditional extranets for secure third-party access from the same platform. Juniper has been positioned in the "Leaders" quadrant of Gartner's recently published Magic Quadrant for SSL VPN, North America, 3Q06*.

TeliaSonera also plans to launch other managed security services based on Juniper's best-in-class solutions in the near future, to include Unified Threat Management (UTM) and high-speed firewalling/VPN with integrated intrusion prevention. The company already offers a managed intrusion prevention service using Juniper Networks' standalone Intrusion Detection and Prevention (IDP) family of devices.

The Juniper Networks Secure Access series of SSL VPN appliances enable organizations of all sizes to deploy cost-effective secure access for mobile and remote employees. The use of SSL, the security protocol found in all standard Web browsers, eliminates the need for client-software deployment and costly ongoing client maintenance/support when compared to traditional IPSec solutions for remote access, making it ideal for the managed services environment.
