Teligence Wins BC Technology Industries Association's Company of the Year Award

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - June 9, 2006) - Teligence®, a Vancouver company and North America's leader in voice-enabled social networking, was named Company of the Year at the British Columbia Technology Industries Association's (BC TIA) awards gala last night.

After accepting the prestigious award, John Madigan, Director of Teligence and the company's co-founder, made note of the phenomenal statistics and factors that contribute to Teligence's success.

"Over the past three years we have increased our market share by 54%, outmaneuvering our competitors," Madigan said. "Rather than relying on third party software providers, we manage and control our own software. At the outset, we developed and customized our technology to create a unique and innovative solution ready to apply to a niche marketplace. Our technology is backed by unparalleled customer service, which is ranked in the top 10% of call centres worldwide and recognized as a Certified Centre of Excellence by Purdue University."

Teligence was among nine winners honoured at the BC TIA's annual awards gala, which celebrated 23 finalists in nine categories.

"We have lots to celebrate," said Rob Cruickshank, President of BC TIA. "The sheer number of applications we received represents a broad spectrum of innovation, growth and diversity of technology in BC," he said of high-tech nominees.

The BC TIA awards are judged by a panel of experts and leaders in the technology sector. The "Company of the Year" award acknowledges a company's supremacy in the technology industry and superior business development. Past winners include MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates, QLT Inc. and Pivotal Corporation.

Teligence develops and operates Interactive Voice Technology solutions for chatline services. Serving over 1250 communities across North America, Teligence reaches over 100 million people seeking friends, dates or relationships via 17,500 telephone lines.
