TelstraClear Becomes Arbor Networks Reseller in New Zealand

Using Arbor Peakflow SP to Offer Managed DDoS Services

LEXINGTON, MA--(Marketwire - October 13, 2008) - Arbor Networks, Inc., a leading provider of secure service control solutions for global business networks, announced today that TelstraClear, operator of New Zealand's leading IP-based network, has established a reseller relationship with Arbor Networks in order to offer customers in-cloud managed distributed denial of service (DDoS) protection.

"Serving customers is our top priority, and right now they are vulnerable to large, distributed network-based attacks," said Adrian van Hest of TelstraClear. "By partnering with Arbor Networks, the world leader in DDoS detection and mitigation, we can offer a proven, scalable, managed security solution to our customers that protects them from DDoS attacks."

"The size and scope of the DDoS problem is overwhelming to businesses, and service providers like TelstraClear understand that they are best positioned to deal with this issue," said Nick Race, Arbor's country manager for Australia and New Zealand. "Arbor has years of experience helping providers deliver managed DDoS protection, and we have incorporated many features, such as one-click mitigation, to make the system easy to operate and deploy in a highly scalable manner."

Arbor's Peakflow SP platform ("Peakflow SP") is a strategic investment that enables service providers to leverage the same solution used for infrastructure visibility and security to deliver new, differentiated, revenue-generating managed services, such as MPLS VPN visibility and DDoS protection. By tightly integrating Arbor's Threat Management System (TMS) into Peakflow SP, Arbor delivers a solution that combines network-wide anomaly detection and traffic engineering with carrier-class threat management that automatically detects and surgically removes only attack traffic while maintaining legitimate business traffic.

TelstraClear will further benefit from ATLAS, the world's first globally scoped threat analysis network. Arbor has collaborated with their global customer base and embedded technology in the world's largest ISP networks to sense and report on comprehensive worldwide threat intelligence. This data is fed back into Peakflow SP, delivering global insight into the threat landscape to TelstraClear and their customers.

More than forty of the world's leading service providers are utilizing Peakflow SP to deploy network-based offerings in an easy and scalable way to protect their enterprise customers' networks from DDoS and other cyber attacks that disrupt corporate networks and business continuity.
