TELUS Signs OSS Contract With Syndesis

Deployments Will Ultimately Power Carrier's Broadband Portfolio, Including Triple Play, TLAN

NICE, FRANCE -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 17, 2005 -- TELEMANAGEMENT WORLD -- Syndesis is pleased to announce the signing of a general contract with TELUS Corporation (TSX: T) (TSX: T.NV) (NYSE: TU), one of Canada's leading providers of data, Internet Protocol (IP), voice and wireless communications services. Under the terms of the agreement, Syndesis solutions will become a foundation for TELUS' service fulfillment architecture and enable automated provisioning for broadband services.

Transparent LAN (TLAN) service activation will be the first deployment in the multi-phased project, automating the activation of Ethernet over ATM and FR-ATM services. Phase 2 will see Syndesis enable flow-through provisioning for High-Speed Internet Access services, over the carrier's Metro Ethernet core network.

"TELUS chose to invest in Activation systems to support rapid, consistent and reliable service provisioning," said Ibrahim Gedeon, Chief Technology Officer for TELUS. "Activation systems support TELUS' Data/IP and growth strategies by accelerating network evolution and new service introduction. We felt Syndesis was the best fit for this strategic, multi-year alignment given their customer base, track record in the marketplace and focus on intelligent automation."

"The TELUS contract is a significant achievement for Syndesis in a series of recent deals with the world's leading service providers," said Chris Swan, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales, Marketing and Alliances for Syndesis. "TELUS has shown considerable leadership in the North American marketplace in realizing the strategic advantage that OSS can provide. Having selected Syndesis from a competitive field, TELUS is in a position to drive down costs, maximize efficiency in its most complex data-based services, and be consistently first to market with new offerings."

With Syndesis, TELUS will successfully automate the delivery of its Transparent LAN services, providing end-to-end LAN connectivity across its multi-vendor, nation-wide Metro Edge and Metro Core networks in as little as 60 seconds.

"At TELUS, Syndesis is automating the provisioning of end-to-end connectivity regardless of transport and access infrastructure," added Syndesis' Chris Swan. "Relying on our consolidated platform to deliver multiple service offerings spanning various network technologies, TELUS can cut its overall costs, accelerate revenues, consolidate its OSS systems and redeploy its highly skilled employees to other areas."
