Telvent Backs Innovation as a Business Strategy at the 3rd Annual International Excellence Conference

Experts on Leadership and Quality Management Analyzed Business Challenges at the Forum Sponsored in Madrid by the Spanish Multinational Company


ROCKVILLE, MD--(Marketwire - November 11, 2010) - Telvent (NASDAQ: TLVT), the leading real-time IT solutions and information provider for a sustainable world, announced today that it has renewed its commitment to business excellence and quality management at the third annual International Excellence Conference. The event, held October 27, turned Madrid into a forum for debate on good corporate practices.

Innovation experts and international thought leaders from the political, academic and business sectors took part in this year's event which focused on analyzing challenges the business community faces in creating a business-friendly environment. The conference was held at the Mutua Madrileña Auditorium (33 Paseo de la Castellana), in Madrid and brought together more than 800 people.

The Spanish multinational company has partnered with the Community of Madrid on the conference since 2008. The initiative was originally conceived with the goal of positioning Spanish companies as global points of reference in the area of innovation, as well as promoting and disseminating a culture of excellence in business management.

Telvent Chief Executive Officer Ignacio González underscored the dynamic force of these types of events, which serve as forums for exchanging expertise and experiences among companies noted for their good practices. The conference devoted special attention to the study of business success stories and practices that have been acknowledged for their excellence. During this event, Guy Sorman, French economist and intellectual, received the 2010 European Excellence Award. This prize was presented by Community of Madrid President Esperanza Aguirre.

Featured speakers included Ken Robinson, professor of economics at the London School of Economics, and Michael Portillo, former British minister of economy. Other participants included Madrid Antonio Beteta, chairman of the Economy and the Treasury of the Regional Government, and Manuel Pizarro, former president of Endesa, Ibercaja, and the Madrid Stock Exchange.
