Telvent to Implement Ticketing Management Systems in New Madrid Subway Lines

MADRID, SPAIN -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 16, 2006 -- Telvent GIT S.A. (NASDAQ: TLVT), the Global RealTime IT Company, has signed a contract for almost 4 million euro with Madrid Infraestructuras del Transporte (MINTRA) for the supply and installation of ticket vending and cancellation machines for the new Colonia Jardin-Pozuelo and Colonia Jardin-Boadilla light metro lines.

The project is part of the Madrid Regional Government's 2003-2007 transport network expansion plan. The lines, both of which will leave from the Colonia-Jardin station, include 24 kilometers of track in total and will serve more than 90,000 residents in the area.

Telvent will manufacture and install the automatic ticket vending and ticket canceling machines, together with the access control systems that will operate on the 27 platforms along the two lines. The units will be adapted to meet the special needs of blind and vision-impaired users. In addition, Telvent will manufacture portable units that inspectors will carry to detect false transport tickets.
