Telx Increases Power, Space in Downtown Atlanta

High Power-Density Space Caters to Media and Entertainment, Education and Research, and Healthcare Verticals

NEW YORK, NY and ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwire - December 3, 2009) -

Key Highlights:

-- New space offers high power density to better serve enterprise customers.

-- Provides low-latency connectivity to many media & entertainment firms, educational institutions, research organizations and cloud computing providers.

-- Enables higher-density storage and data sharing capabilities among all verticals.

Telx, one of the largest domestic interconnection and colocation data center operators, announced today that it has increased power capacities across 20,000 square-feet of conditioned data center space within its building at 56 Marietta Street in Atlanta. The newly re-configured SAS 70 certified space is designed to support up to 200 watts per square foot of IT load, and will meet or exceed the Uptime Institute's Tier III rating for data centers. Additionally, the scalable, flexible, mission-critical architecture allows for highly efficient power utilization within the space.

Telx's 56 Marietta St. facility has long been recognized within the industry as one of the most densely interconnected facilities in the Southeastern United States. The combination of enhanced power supplies and the most dense collection of networks in the Southeast offers enterprise customers powerful proximity networking capabilities and the necessary power to meet the most demanding computing, data storage and backup, and network connectivity needs.

"56 Marietta Street's roots are that of the pre-eminent carrier hotel in the Southeast and have long served the wide variety of prominent enterprise companies that call Atlanta home," said Michael Terlizzi, Executive Vice President of Operations for Telx. "The transition of this space from low-density, high-interconnection to high-density, high-interconnection adds tremendous value to our customers and is unparalleled in the colocation and interconnection marketplaces."

The addition of new space not only increases capabilities for enterprise customers, but for current Telx service providers that now offer connectivity and solutions within Telx's 56 Marietta Street facility.

"Telx's additional power allows Colocube to provide higher density managed service solutions to our customers," said Matt Elkourie, CTO of high-performance IT hosting and IP services provider Colocube. "The addition of this high-density power and added space will help us to meet and exceed our customers' needs, both now and in the future as technology continues to evolve."

Telx's new space, like all of 56 Marietta, offers industry-leading power and cooling systems to ensure optimal reliability and up-time for customers. The new space is available immediately and in addition to typical cabinet and cage configurations, can be leased as fully-conditioned or custom-built suites as well as powered shell space.
