Tely Labs' Entertainment Suite Redefines Video Calling, Transforming telyHD Into an Interactive Entertainment and Social Center for the Entire Household

Software Upgrade Enables First-Ever Wireless Photo Sharing During Skype Video Calls; Built-In Browser Turns Web Surfing and Watching Web Videos Into a Big Screen, Living Room Experience

MENLO PARK, CA--(Marketwire - Jun 14, 2012) - Tely Labs, maker of the award-winning telyHD video calling system that was the first to bring affordable high-definition Skype video calling to the living room, today announced the availability of the telyHD Entertainment Suite.

This software upgrade completely transforms the video calling experience, giving Skype users an entirely new way to use their big screen TVs to socialize with friends and family. Now users can wirelessly share photos from their Apple iOS devices to the TV during video calls, bringing real-time photo sharing to video calling for the first time. The new full-featured web browser included in the Entertainment Suite makes the telyHD experience even more compelling and fun, enabling the whole family to surf the web and view web videos together all on the big screen -- with no computer required. With the new SmartRemote, any iPad, iPhone, iPod touch or Android device becomes a telyHD remote control, giving users full, highly-responsive keyboard control of their telyHD, and making it easier then ever to enjoy video calling, web browsing and more.

"Our mission at Tely Labs is to fundamentally re-invent how we connect with friends and loved ones," said Sreekanth Ravi, CEO of Tely Labs. "With telyHD, we transformed Skype video calling into a living room experience. Now, with the Entertainment Suite we are making interactions on telyHD much more collaborative."

"We've said from the start that Skype video calling was just the beginning, and the Entertainment Suite shows us making good on our promise," Ravi continued. "There will soon be other types of content you'll be able to share while on a video call, both at home and at work."

telyHD is a compact yet powerful device that sits atop a TV set and allows users to make Skype video calls in a living room environment with big-screen impact and high-definition clarity. The hardware includes a wide-angle camera that zooms, pans and tilts to capture the entire room, allowing Skype users to interact with each other in a more natural way than possible when sitting in front of a laptop or desktop computer.

View Photos Wirelessly on Your TV or Share Them During a Video Call with TelyProjector

The new Entertainment Suite lets consumers instantly show off their photos on the best screen in their house -- their HDTV. The new TelyProjector feature of Entertainment Suite is compatible with AirPlay technology from Apple. So now iPhone, iPad or iPod touch owners can use their iOS devices to share their photos wirelessly on any teleHD-equipped HDTV, or with another telyHD user during a Skype video call. There's no need to first download pictures to a computer or upload them to a sharing site, two of the hassles that result in many photographs staying locked up, unseen and unshared on mobile phones.

HD Quality Web Browsing and Web Video: Simply the best way to enjoy the web on your TV

The Entertainment Suite includes a full-featured web browser so the entire family can effortlessly surf the web on their living room TV, enjoying all the Internet has to offer on the big screen. Entertainment, news, shopping, travel and sports sites can now be accessed without the need for a separate computer. And HD quality Web videos such as those on YouTube and other websites can be enjoyed with much crisper and clearer images thanks to the cutting-edge chip technology built into each telyHD: an NVIDIA Tegra-2 Dual-Core ARM A9 processor with hardware flash acceleration.

Control telyHD From Any iOS or Android device, Without Adding Yet Another Remote

The new SmartRemote lets a telyHD owner use their iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or any Android-based smart phone or tablet, as a remote control, making it easier than ever to take advantage of all that telyHD has to offer. Consumers not only have a full-functioning keyboard to surf the web, but will be able to use it to scroll through Skype contacts, make and receive calls, and access their list of recent calls. SmartRemote uses a home's Wi-Fi network to connect to the telyHD, meaning that its range and response times will be better than with many traditional infrared remotes. And, it avoids the need to add yet another remote control.

There is a one-time upgrade charge of $49 for the Entertainment Suite. For current telyHD owners whose units are connected to the Internet, the upgrade will occur automatically in the background, with users being given 30 days to trial the software for free. If they wish for the upgrade to be permanent, they can go to Tely Labs' web site ( for purchase. Users who don't wish to keep the upgrade will not be charged.

telyHD itself is priced at $249 and requires no monthly fees. It is available from all major online retailers.
