TempWorks Offers New 1094 and 1095 Service to Help Staffing Agencies Comply With Affordable Care Act

The staffing software company now completes 1095 forms on its customers' behalf and mails them to their employees in addition to filing 1094 electronic files with the IRS, a service offered by no other staffing software company. As the Affordable Care Act's employer reporting requirements take effect this year, TempWorks understands the unique challenges staffing firms face and works to ensure its customers stay compliant.

The ACA's employer reporting has been particularly confusing for those within the staffing world, as employment status (part time or full time) may change frequently for temporary employees. It does not take into account the vast differences in staffing firms' temporary part-time and full-time employees, making it difficult for agencies to keep track and understand when an employee is required to be covered. 

TempWorks' new service makes complying with the employer reporting requirements simple by taking care of 1094 and 1095 printing and filing for its customers. Filing 1094 files is especially helpful since it requires IRS certification -- something that would otherwise necessitate hiring an additional party to handle. TempWorks' service works by collecting the customer's ACA data and combining it with insurance files. Its complex algorithm then determines the coverage periods and the coding on the type of insurance offered. Based on ACA coding, TempWorks' system also determines which employees need to receive a 1095 form.
