EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Sept. 28, 2011) - Ten Thousand Villages is marking its 65th anniversary on Saturday, October 1 with an exciting day of special in-store events and promotions. Ten Thousand Villages is one of the most unique stores on Whyte Ave in Edmonton. Unique not only because of the fairly traded handicrafts from around the world, but also because of the dedicated group of volunteers who have helped run this non-profit organization in Edmonton for 25 years.

Ten Thousand Villages creates opportunities for artisans in developing countries to earn income by bringing their products and stories to our markets through long-term, fair trading relationships. Ten Thousand Villages is the oldest and largest Fair Trade organization in North America.
