TenTen Wilshire to Host Bingo Night With Oktoberfest Beers on Tuesday, October 21

Luxurious Move in Ready Apartment Complex in L.A. Honors Legendary "Funfair" Originating in Munich, Germany With Food, Oktoberfest Beers and Fun Prizes

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwired - Oct 21, 2014) - As the world's largest "funfair" held annually in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, Oktoberfest is a 16-day festival that has become an important part of Bavarian culture since its beginnings in 1810. TenTen Wilshire, a Los Angeles-based luxury move in ready apartments complex renowned for hosting gala events, will pay tribute to this legendary festival when it throws its own Bingo Night with Oktoberfest beers on Tuesday, October 21. Scheduled to be held from 6 to 10 pm, TenTen Wilshire's version of the Bavarian gala will feature a variety of games, which begin at seven pm, as well as food, select Oktoberfest beers and fun prizes.

In local Bavarian communities, Oktoberfest has come to be known as "Wiesn," named for the colloquial reference of the fairgrounds -- Theresienwiese -- themselves. While other cities around the globe also hold Oktoberfest celebrations modeled after the original Munich event, the German variant remains legendary for the way in which it initially took place during the 16 days up to and including the first Sunday in October. In 1994, the schedule was modified in response to German reunification so that if the first Sunday in October were to fall on the first or second, the festival would continue on through October third (German Unity Day). In 2010, the festival lasted until the first Monday in October, marking the anniversary of the event.

TenTen Wilshire's rendition of the legendary Oktoberfest will include two elements that have become synonymous with this extravaganza -- varieties of beers and a plethora of attractions and games. Traditionally, large quantities of Oktoberfest beers are consumed at these events, with nearly seven million liters served during the 16-day festival in 2007. Visitors also traditionally enjoy a mixture of attractions during the Germany-based Oktoberfest such as amusement rides, side stalls and games, as well as a variety of traditional foods such as roast chicken, roast pork, grilled ham hock, grilled fish on a stick, sausages, pretzels, potato or bread dumplings, cheese noodles, potato pancakes, Sauerkraut and Bavarian specialties like spiced cheese-butter spread and white sausage.
