Tenth Anniversary 9/11 Memorial Concert Planned at Our Lady of Angels Cathedral in Downtown Los Angeles

Presented by the Angeles Chorale in Partnership With Cathedral of Our Lady of Angels

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - Aug 5, 2011) - In marking the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, the Angeles Chorale, in partnership with the Cathedral of Our Lady of Angels, will hold a concert free to the public at the iconic cathedral located in downtown Los Angeles, site of the first memorial observance the year following the attacks, as part of the planned nationwide events and observances.

The Angeles Chorale, along with the OLA Cathedral Choir, will be performing a selection of works chosen by noted choir conductor John Sutton, including Gabriel Fauré's "Requiem."

"The Angeles Chorale felt the 10th anniversary was an important time to look back on those tragic events and use the power and elegance of choral music to give perspective, meaning and understanding as we look at how the events of 9/11 have shaped us," Sutton said. "We are especially grateful to his Excellency Archbishop José H. Gomez for the opportunity to hold this event at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Angels."
