TEPCO Continues Moving Irradiated Water, Assembles Emergency Equipment, an Industrial Info News Alert

KOFU-SHI, JAPAN--(Marketwire - Apr 14, 2011) - Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas) -- On April 11, a magnitude 7.1 earthquake, thought to be an aftershock of the 9.0 earthquake that rocked Japan a month prior, struck off the coast of Fukushima prefecture. Restoration work at Tokyo Electric Power Company Incorporated's (TYO:9501) (TEPCO) (Tokyo) Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power station was temporarily halted after a tsunami warning was raised, resulting in a significant period of time in which the reactors went without cooling. In response, the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI) has announced plans to prevent damage that could be caused by further aftershocks and associated tsunamis.
